Privacy Crisis in Social Media

Social media has changed the way people interact with strangers friends, family, and co-workers. Social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Snapchat and Instagram have begun to play a major role in our day to day lives and in order to use these platforms we must share a lot of personal information such as location, phone number, email address, etc. This personal information creates major privacy risks because individuals are no longer in full control of their privacy. I will discuss certain platforms who have experienced a privacy crisis and how the scandal has affected their business.
